TNTET Eligibility Criteria 2019 Paper 1(Class I to V) Paper 2 (Class VI to VIII)

If you want to be a primary teacher in Tamil Nadu state then you must know the new revised eligibility criteria for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET 2019) written test examination. As a matter of fact, there are separate eligibility criteria for Paper 1(Class I to V) and Paper 2 (Class VI to VIII). Therefore candidates who intend to be a teacher in Lower Primary (Class I to V) they must follow the minimum qualification for Paper 1. Similarly, candidates, who intend to be a teacher in Upper/Intermediate Primary (Class I to V) in Tamilnadu they must follow the minimum qualification for Paper 2.

TNTET Eligibility Criteria 2019

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has prescribed the Eligibility Criteria of TET exam. Therefore the TNTET must follow the guideline of NCTE minimum qualifications to write TNTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 examination.

TNTET 2019  Eligibility Criteria Paper 1

Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V).

1. Must be completed 10+2 i.e. Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with minimum 50% marks as well as completed/ final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

2. Must be completed 10+2 i.e. Higher Secondary with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, Recognized by  NCTE.

OR

3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

OR

4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

5. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).

The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed. /D.Ed./D.Ele.Ed. from outside of Tamil Nadu state, should submit an evaluation certificate for such qualifications.

TNTET 2019  Eligibility Criteria Paper 2

Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII).

1. Must be completed 10+2+3 i.e. Graduation as well as passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

OR

2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

OR

3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

OR

4. Higher Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

OR

5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.

OR

6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).
